The apartment is part of a historic building in Florence ‘Palazzetto dei Medici’ (or Palazzo di Francesco Maria de ‘Medici) which finds its origins in the pages of the medieval history of Florence, joined internally in the fourteenth century to the tower of Corso Donati , historical Florentine family protagonist of the struggle between black Guelphs and white Guelphs.
The palace stands on property attesting the Donati family in the Middle Ages, then passed to the Amadori (1555) and later to the Finali (1595). In 1695 it was brought as a dowry by Diadora di Cosimo Finali to her husband Francesco Maria de ‘Medici from whom it assumed its current name.
The building as a whole shows a harmonious and balanced design in a fifteenth-century style even if it dates back to the sixteenth century. On the beautiful entrance door there is a niche with the marble bust of Ferdinando I de ‘Medici (cardinal and third Grand Duke of Tuscany) accompanied by an inscription and dated 1602.

Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL)
Florence’s city center is a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), which means that access to it is restricted, depending on the time of the day, day of the weak, season, etc.
The access to this area is marked with a traffic light:
Green Light = access is permitted / Red light = access is not permitted.
CCTV is installed, taking pictures of all vehicles that enter the ZTL and their plate numbers. Cars with a special permit to enter the zone, which only residents can get, are listed in the ZTL database. All other vehicles entering the ZTL when the light is red will get a fine.
