As you approach Florence by highway, coming either from Rome (south) or from Bologna (north), take the exit Firenze SUD and keep going straight into Via Marco Polo following the indication for Coverciano - Fiesole until you reach the traffic lights. Then take the left turning into Via Enrico de Nicola following the indications: Viali Circonvallazione-Centro.
Keep going straight ahead through Lungarno Aldo Moro - Lungarno Cristoforo Colombo - Lungarno del Tempio until the end and you will find a large hotel called "Mediterraneo" on your right and traffic lights where you have to turn right but keep to the left-hand side of the road as you take Via Giovanni Amendola.
At the first traffic light turn left in Viale Duca degli Abruzzi keeping to your right-hand side; at the traffic lights, cross Via della Giovine Italia and go straight on into Via dell’Agnolo where you will find the beginning of the ZTL zone. Keep going straight ahead into Via dell’Agnolo, even if the ZTL light is red, until the crossing with Via Giuseppe Verdi, take right in Via Giuseppe Verde and turn around Piazza Salvemini to the left right after the traffic light. At the second traffic light, keep left in Via dell'Oriuolo.. The parking is about 200 ahead of you, on the right side.
Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL)
Florence’s city center is a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), which means that access to it is restricted, depending on the time of the day, day of the weak, season, etc.
The access to this area is marked with a traffic light:
Green Light = access is permitted / Red light = access is not permitted.
CCTV is installed, taking pictures of all vehicles that enter the ZTL and their plate numbers. Cars with a special permit to enter the zone, which only residents can get, are listed in the ZTL database. All other vehicles entering the ZTL when the light is red will get a fine.
Important
In agreement with the local Police station, the fine will be cancelled if you reach one of the three parking spaces listed here within 3 hours of your access to the ZTL, upon which the staff at the parking will register your car in the system, instantly legalising your entrance into the ZTL.
